In 2009, the movie The Proposal came out starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. If you haven’t seen it, you need to because it is a funny movie. But that is really not my point….
We had a scene from that movie at our house the other day. Zoe, our 14 week old teacup Yorkie Pom, was outside with Logan playing in our fenced in backyard. I decided to make lunch and left the door open so I could hear him and the window was open so I could view them both (most of the time I can see them). As I was making sandwiches, Logan runs in the house and says Zoe caught a bird and is getting hit by Daddy birds. He was so serious and instantly ran back outside that I followed him out. Sure enough the scene was something straight out of a movie. Two birds hung overhead of little Zoe and swooped down to attack her. I notice another bird at Zoe’s paws, with beak open snapping at her. I snatched the dog up in my arms, right about the time the bird on the ground pinched her nose with her beak but it did not get a hold on the dog. I looked to see if she was hurt at all as I made my way back to the house. I turned to tell Logan to follow and he had a bucket in his hands to try and catch the bird. I yelled for him to leave that bird alone. He followed me in the house explaining that the bird ran into the house and must have been hurt and could not fly away. That Zoe was just trying to see what it was. He said before I got out there that the other two birds had hit Zoe in the butt and head to get her to leave the hurt bird alone.
Seriously, if I didn’t see most of it unfold, I wouldn’t have believed it. It had to happen really fast because I wasn’t in the house very long. Good thing the birds were not bigger than Zoe or she would be gone by now. Scooping her up and taking her away from us. I guess I never really believed that it could be true. It just made a good scene for the movie The Proposal. There is never a dull moment at this house!
**The bird went under the fence and I could not find it after that, so I assume it is okay.
